Anakkampoyil is a quiet village nestled at the foot of the Western Ghats in the Koodaranji region east of Kozhikode. Surrounded by forest, streams and rolling green hills, it's a peaceful, offbeat spot and a popular base for adventurers.
What to Expect
The area is best known as a starting point for treks into the higher ranges — including routes toward Vellarimala and the scenic Anakkampoyil–Kalladi–Meppadi trail. Expect small waterfalls and streams, plantation-clad slopes and refreshing mountain air.
Good to Know
Roughly 40 km east of the city. It's mostly open, natural terrain with limited facilities, best enjoyed in and just after the monsoon — carry essentials and use a local guide for any serious trekking.
