Kerala's Craft Village
Sargaalaya, at Iringal near Vadakara, is a beautifully laid-out riverside craft village showcasing Kerala's traditional arts. Each space is dedicated to an artisan, so you don't just see finished products — you watch painting, sculpting, weaving, bamboo and coir work, handloom and jewellery-making happen live.
What to Expect
Stroll landscaped pathways among artisan stalls, buy authentic handmade crafts directly from makers, try craft workshops, take a boat ride, and eat at the canteen serving traditional Kerala veg and non-veg meals. Peaceful and family-friendly, it's a relaxed cultural escape.
Good to Know
About 35 km north of the city. Entry is roughly ₹100 per person plus parking. Closed Mondays; timings vary by day. An international craft festival is held around December–January.
