The Gateway to Wayanad
Thamarassery Churam is the scenic mountain pass that connects Kozhikode to the Wayanad plateau, famous for its nine dramatic hairpin bends winding up through the Western Ghats. The viewpoint on the ghat road (NH-766) is a favourite stop for road-trippers.
What to Expect
From the top you get sweeping views of misty valleys, forested slopes and the curving road below. The cool air, greenery and photo opportunities make it a memorable break on the drive to Wayanad, especially at early morning or evening.
Good to Know
About 50 km east of the city, on the way to Wayanad. It's a free, open roadside viewpoint — take care with continuous traffic and sharp bends, and heed no-parking zones. Weekends and holidays get busy.
