About this place

A scenic cluster of waterfalls in the Western Ghats ~50 km east of Kozhikode, set amid lush forest and popular for nature walks and short treks.

Falls in the Western Ghats

Thusharagiri ('snow-capped mountain') is a set of waterfalls fed by the Chalippuzha river, tucked into the forested hills east of Kozhikode near Kodenchery. The roaring monsoon-fed cascades and the green, tree-lined trail to reach them make it one of the area's favourite nature getaways.

What to Expect

A short, scenic hike through the forest leads to the main falls. The area is clean and well-maintained, with basic facilities near the ticket desk. It's a superb spot for nature lovers and photographers, often combined with a scenic loop via Wayanad Churam and Thamarassery.

Good to Know

About 50 km from the city. Entry is roughly ₹50 per person plus parking. Bathing may be prohibited during high, unpredictable monsoon flow — follow safety signs.
