A Hidden Multi-Tier Cascade

Urumi Waterfalls, near Poovaranthode in the Koodaranji/Thiruvambady villages east of Kozhikode, is a lovely, relatively uncrowded eco-tourism spot in the Western Ghats. Lush greenery frames its multi-layered falls and clear rock pools.

What to Expect

The crystal-clear water and natural pools make it a favourite for a refreshing dip in the dry season, alongside the small Urumi weir/dam. It's a peaceful spot for nature lovers away from the busier tourist trails.

About 45 km east of the city. A nominal eco-tourism fee may apply. Important: water levels can rise suddenly and the area is dangerous during the monsoon — avoid swimming in the rains and follow safety warnings.
