About

A hugely popular, no-frills Malabar eatery near Kuttichira pond, famous for its beef dishes and porotta combos, and a favourite early-morning breakfast spot.

A Kuttichira Beef Favourite

Championz Restaurant (also known locally as Champion Restaurant / Champions Hotel) is a small, no-frills traditional Kerala eatery in Kuttichira, near the Mishkal Mosque and Kuttichira pond. It rose to fame on social media for its authentic Malabar cooking and remains one of the busiest beef-and-breakfast spots in the city.

What to Order

Beef is the headline act — beef roast, beef chilli, beef fry and beef liver are all standouts — best paired with soft, flaky porotta. Regulars also rave about the chicken chukka/pepper, the poricha pathiri (called among the best in Kozhikode), aykoora (seer fish) fry, appam, puttu, pazhampori and strong tea. Almost everything is freshly prepared and ready from very early morning.

The Experience

Opening as early as 4 AM, it's ideal for an early, hearty breakfast. The space is compact and often packed, with a popular upstairs balcony overlooking the Kuttichira pond. Come with realistic expectations about crowds, waits and basic service — the food is the reason to visit.
